MetaFascial Massage™ / Somatic Myofascial Release
NOK 1400 per hour
MetaFascial Massage™ is a unique blend of Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, Reiki, and Intuitive Energy Work. It can also be referred to as myofascial emotional release or 'Somatic Myofascial Release'.
Developed by Erin Koenig over 23 years of massage practice, teaching, and healing work in multiple modalities, MetaFascial Massage™ is the complete therapeutic package. It offers the client the best of Erin’s deep knowledge of connective tissue work, trigger point therapy, medical massage, injury rehab, and neuromuscular techniques, combined with intuitive energy work for the ultimate therapeutic release of body and spirit.
In these sessions, Erin focuses on the deeper emotional 'scar tissue' and holding patterns that live in our muscle memory. Her understanding of the science behind cell memory and emotional holding patterns in the body, in combination with strong intuitive gifts makes this session effective on the deepest level.
This bodywork often requires active participation on the part of the client, with the understanding that true change and release can only come from within. Therefore, Erin sees it as essentially client-led healing, her role being to act as a facilitator in each person’s personal healing process.
The desire and willingness to open up and let go, with understanding and acceptance on the part of both client and therapist, is an essential part of this work. Working together as partners in the process allows healing to take place on the deepest holding patterns and chronic pain issues in the body.
With MetaFascial Massage™, Erin brings her unique gifts to the table and creates a unique, customized experience for each client, each session. She works with each client to determine each one’s needs and desires, to understand and release the stress and emotional scars that create the holding patterns that can cause chronic pain or dysfunction in the body.
Injury Rehabilitation Massage
NOK 1500 per hour
This session uses Myofascial release techniques combined with various deep tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, and stretching modalities. This type of bodywork is designed to help the client recover from physical injuries.
Though primarily used on athletes for recovery, maintenance, and injury prevention, it can be used by anyone to assist in their journey of recovery. Instead of being a full body massage, these sessions are goal oriented to focus on specific areas of the body.
The session will begin with a review of your injury and physical history, as well as a postural assessment with a testing of the range of motion of certain related areas of your body. The massage will be on the table, mostly undressed, depending on what areas need to be worked on. Any areas not being massaged will be covered with a sheet.
Techniques will range from passive massage and movement to techniques requiring more active participation from the client to release deeper scar tissue and adhesions in the muscle and connective tissue.
Myofascial Release is a slow, deep massage, focused on releasing restrictions in the connective tissue, or fascia, that is caused by injury, compensation, overuse, and daily postural imbalances. Though deep, it should not be painful for the client, though some might feel discomfort in certain areas. Erin communicates often to ensure that it never crosses the line to pain.
Neuromuscular Therapy techniques and Neuromuscular Proprioceptive Facilitation Stretching can also range from passive to assistive active techniques to re-train the neuromuscular connections between the muscles and the nerves. This helps increase range of motion, correct postural imbalances, and release stubborn trigger points in the muscles.
Erin has worked with many different kinds of athletes in her 20 year career; including Runners, MMA Fighters, Martial Artists, Track and Field athletes, Golfers, Cyclists, Weight Lifters, Yogis, and Skiers. She was on the Sports Massage Team for the US Open Track and Field Championships at Stanford University in California in 2001; was the official Massage Therapist for the Cesar Gracie Fight Team for 3 years; and has led many massage teams at various Marathons and Cycling fundraising events over her career.
Some of the most common injuries that she specializes in are: Frozen Shoulder, ITB Syndrome, torn knee ligament injuries, torn rotator cuff injuries, sprained/broken ankles, Piriformis Syndrome, Sciatica, Thoracic Outlet and Pec Minor Syndrome, Postpartum recovery, and recovery from various surgeries.
In some cases of recent surgery or severe injury, permission from a health care provider clearing the client for bodywork may be required, to ensure the protection and safety of the client.
Chakra Awakening and Balancing with Reiki
NOK 1000 for 1 hour
NOK 1400 for 90 minutes
Revitalize and restore your energy flow with this nurturing wellness healing session.
Chakras are the main energy centers of our body. There are seven main chakras that run from the base of your spine to the crown of your head. First mentioned in the ancient Vedas, the Hindu books of knowledge and the root of yoga, these swirling vortexes regulate our energy flow. Each one correlates to a different area of daily living and one's state of health and well-being.
Blocked or misaligned chakras can indicate trauma or dysregulation in that region. Every sense, feeling and experience is connected to a specific Chakra. Emotional experiences or stress can cause the Chakra itself to become unbalanced, and this manifests itself as illness in your physical and emotional body.
Chakra balancing enhances the body's internal energy systems by using Reiki and Crystals in treatments, supporting and working to realign energy blockages until proper energy flow is restored. (More about Reiki below.)
This session is designed to go deep within to help find and heal root causes of physical pain and emotional blockages.
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) means "universal life energy" in Japanese. This life force is all around us and we can tap into it and use it for a higher state of relaxation and well being.
With this ancient Japanese healing technique, the practitioners undergo certain training to allow them to be a clear channel for energy to pass through, providing a more powerful flow of healing energy. Reiki is a gentle and safe healing technique, where the practitioner lays their hands on or above the client and sends universal life force energy into the client, often with some guided visualizations to assist the focused flow of the energy to deepen the healing process. This promotes a deep sense of relaxation. This deep state of relaxation, also known as the “parasympathetic state”, enables the activation of the client’s own innate ability to heal themselves from ailments both physical and emotional.
Clients experience a deep sense of peace and relaxation during these sessions and come out feeling recharged, with an overwhelming sense of calmness and well being.
By balancing and clearing out negative emotional holding patterns, you can fundamentally change how you feel and function in your body.
This session is done on a table with the clothes on, with added blankets and pillows if needed to add to the client’s comfort.

Anywhere from the first week to years afterwords, the physical trauma of birth can affect our body's ability to fully function. The focus of this massage is to directly address each mother's personal physical experience and trauma from birth - whether it was c-section or natural, scar tissue is a reality of the recovery process. Hot Stone Massage with Deep Energy Work
NOK 1500 per 60 min
NOK 1800 per 90 min
Feel relaxed and comforted during this nurturing session.
This deeply relaxing massage releases tension using smooth basalt stones heated in water to the ideal, safe temperature. The soothing movement and heat of the stones on the body allow for deep constrictions in the muscles to be released, allowing the therapist to work deeply more quickly.
This therapy uses polished basalt stones in various different sizes mainly because of their unique properties including non-porosity, smoothness and their ability to retain heat longer than any other type of stone. For performing specific massage strokes, the massage therapist will use the smaller tooling stones. For deep therapeutic heat treatment for a longer time, she will place the larger stones at one spot of the body.
The stones are heated in a specially designed heater with a temperature setting and thermometer for checking the temperature of the water, which is generally kept between 43.4 and 54.4 degrees Celsius. As everyone can bear heat to a different extent, it is important for the therapist to ensure that the heat of the stone suits the person having the massage. It is also important for the client to tell the therapist if they feel any discomfort.
Moreover, the therapist puts a sheet or cloth between the stones and the skin to avoid burns until the temperature of the stones can easily be handled by the client.
This use of the hot stones is combined with Scandinavian massage in this session, using oil and long flowing strokes designed to increase circulation and muscle relaxation. This is one of the most commonly offered massage techniques, sometimes called a classic massage. The technique aims to promote relaxation by releasing muscle tension. It is gentler than deep tissue massage and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief.
This massage may loosen up tight muscles caused by daily activities such as sitting at the computer or exercising. It can be very helpful for people who hold a lot of tension in their lower back, shoulders, and neck.
During Scandinavian massage, the therapist uses kneading, long strokes, deep circular movements, and passive joint movements. These techniques are meant to relax, stimulate nerve endings, and increase blood flow and lymph drainage. Pressure varies from client to client, but generally the pressure used is lighter than in deep tissue or Myofascial release massages.
Most importantly, the therapist uses slow and gentle strokes to ensure that their client feels grounded, comforted and calm.
The therapist uses the energy lines or meridians of the body for the placement of hot stones for energy work. By doing so, movement of energy known as qi or chi is stimulated and in this way the effects of stress are eliminated and healing is facilitated. Energy work, or Reiki, is added to help provide a feeling of deeper relaxation and comfort, making this the ultimate relaxation massage. (More about Reiki below.)
